The Priory at Luccombe is a situated on the edge of Shanklin, on a spectacular stretch of cliffs. With only a 10 minute walk down to the beach, and surrounded by Coastal Paths, National Trust fields, cycle routes, Shanklin is an ideal as a base to tour the island.
The apartment is located on the second floor in a handsome Victorian residence overlooking Shanklin and Sandown Bay. The building is set on raised ground over a mature tiered private garden and woodland grounds adjacent to National Trust land extending to Luccombe Downs.
The village of Shanklin and Shanklin esplanade is within walking distance and provides a variety of local shops, supermarkets, banks and cafes. Also, a short walk down Luccombe Road is Shanklin Chine, a natural wooded gorge and Rylstone Gardens, a relaxing park with crazy golf and tea gardens in a flower filled setting.
The long safe sandy beach is easily reached by steep steps from the top of the cliff, or via the fascinating Shanklin Chine (only open from April to November) or a short drive through the village. Coastal paths make for scenic walking either North to the neighbouring long sandy beaches of Sandown or alternatively Southwards to the pretty historic villages of Bonchurch and Ventnor.
